About your instructor

Aja Sherman - Pitching Instructor

Aja Sherman started playing softball at 11 years old in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In 2001, she accepted a scholarship to play softball for the University of Louisville, where she played from 2002-2005, earning her degree in 2006.

While attending U of L, she split her playing time between 1st base and pitcher. She was a two-time captain and pitched the softball program's only Perfect Game in 2004. She was named to the All-Conference Team twice, as she helped lead the Cardinals to the first two NCAA Division 1 National Softball Tournament berths in their history. Actually, pitching them to their first ever victory in the tournament, a 1-0 extra inning shut out.

Among the many accolades she received while playing at U of L include being a member of the school's first team to win a conference championship in 2005, and being named Conference USA Pitcher of the Year, that same year.

Aja also became the first softball player from U of L to play professionally, when she joined the Arizona Heat of the Nation Pro Fastpitch Woman’s Softball League, (NPF), after her final year at Louisville. In the NPF, she played with and against many players from possibly the greatest Olympic softball team of all-time, the Gold Medal Team of 2004. She also spent a year playing professionally overseas for the Miramar team in Wellington, New Zealand.

Aja has been teaching Pitching for 20 year and she looks forward to helping more athletes gain a better understanding of the game of softball helping them improve, grow, and stay competitive throughout their careers.
